Q        A client received a partial Depo 150 mg IM due to operator error. We figure that she received about ½ -2/3 of the dose. The client uses it primarily to control her periods.
We contracted the manufacturer. They recommended that she se a BUM for the full 13 weeks. They said that she could receive another full dose as soon as 6 weeks from now.
What would you recommend?
A:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â You are in a data-free zone!
I would suggest that about 6 weeks after her shot your patient return and get a second shot, using condoms every single time she has sex until several days after that second shot. |
